A summer evening in Verona does not have to begin and end at the Arena. Until 12 September 2026, Urban Orbit turns streets, gardens, courtyards and neighbourhood squares into stages for a new city-wide programme of contemporary circus, street arts, music and multidisciplinary performance.

The first edition is promoted by the Comune di Verona with local districts and cultural partners. More than twenty appointments are planned, and the useful detail for visitors is that the festival moves beyond the central postcard route. It is a reason to see how Verona feels after the daytime crowds have thinned.

A festival made for wandering

Urban Orbit is designed as an open-air encounter rather than a single venue event. That makes it particularly easy to add to an unhurried itinerary: choose a neighbourhood, have dinner nearby, then let the performance become the evening's anchor. The programme includes events in the centre as well as in districts II, III, IV, VI, VII and VIII.

Street theatre works especially well for travellers because it asks very little preparation. You do not need to know a venue inside out or commit to a whole night before arriving. A square, a small crowd and an unexpected performance can be enough to make a regular walk memorable.

How to plan it well

Use the municipality's event page as the final authority for dates, locations and any booking information. Outdoor programming can change with weather or production needs, so avoid building a tightly timed evening around an unconfirmed listing. If a performance is near the Adige or in Veronetta, arrive early and make the approach part of the experience.

Tip: Urban Orbit runs through 12 September 2026. Check the official Comune di Verona calendar on the day you go, then give yourself time for an aperitivo and a slow walk instead of treating the event as a rushed add-on.
